Global Access ManagementThe GLAM project is funded through the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) Authentication, Authorisation and Accounting (AAA) programme, to provide an evaluation of the Point of Access to Providers of Information (PAPI) system as a potential solution to managing authorised access to electronic library resources. The PAPI system is being developed in Spain by the Spanish National Research Network (RedIRIS) as a tool in providing a single sign on for users of electronic resources. The GLAM project will assess PAPI from a technical, management and user perspective. A key aspect is the evaluation and feedback that will be gathered from users both on and off campus, many of whom are situated overseas. Recommendations from the study will go towards determining whether PAPI could be used as a fine-grain authorisation component within the overall access management solution necessary to fulfil the vision of the JISC information environment. GLAM was a twelve-month project running from 1st October 2002 until 30th September 2003. Please note that the purpose of this website is now purely for information dissemination and as such is in an archive status. |
